We may have only 46,6 km of coast, but in Slovenia it’s quality, not quantity that counts. That quality is also shown in the accessibility of the facilities! During our day trip we will visit the Sečovlje Nature park, the medieval city of Piran and try the wines of Slovenian Littoral region.
Our first stop on the trip will be the Šečovlje saltworks. The ride from Ljubljana to Sečovlje takes about 90 minutes. Nature park in which they are producing salt since the 13th century, has recently been adapted for the needs of the disabled people. Our next stop is Piran. When we arrive we will have a guided tour of the city, which also has a nickname Slovenian Venice. During our wheelchair accessible tour you’ll be able to see Tartini’s and 1st May Squares and the Saint Clements Church. We’ll also be enjoying the accessible promenade near the seaside, on the place where the city walls used to stand and protect the city. The city of Piran is one of the best preserved medieval towns on Adriatic coast with beautiful setting on a peninsula, narrow cobbled lanes and a church and fortress high above the town. After the city tour you shall have some free time for coffee, lunch, or even swimming if you like. Our next stop will be the Refošk wine cellar, located in the biggest city on Slovenian coast Koper. Refošk wine cellar is completely accessible for wheelchair users. There you will try some of best wines from Slovene Littoral Region, like Refošk and Malvazija. After the wine tasting transfer back to Ljubljana (cca 1h drive).
