PROBLEMS WITH CARE FOR CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES DURING THE SUMMER

Summer is here!! And most of people are happy! For next two months most of the people will be enjoying their free time on the beaches, near pools and thermal spa’s or just traveling somewhere around the world. But not everybody is that fortunate in this time of the year.

On 24th June school year finished in Slovenia. Children are happy, but parents of the children with special needs have extra issues during the summer time. Almost all schools do not have the special care for the children with disabilities during the summer months. And as we are living in 21st century where workers and parents rights are not a top priority, parents of disabled children have to find other ways to provide care for their loved ones. Of course they cannot take a two months vacation during the summer, so they are requesting that state finds systematic solution for this issue. Some institutions which are helping with the care of elderly disabled have offered their services during the summer months, but that is just a temporary solution for this important issue.
