Open-air cinema at Ljubljana’s Congress Square

Some information for all those visiting Slovenia and its capital in August. From 27th – 30th of August you’ll be able to enjoy four movie projections completely for free on one of the biggest Ljubljana’s squares – Congress square. The square is completely accessible for the wheelchair users and there is also a toilette for disabled people located on the square.

Continuing this celebration of cinema and cinemas, the capital for the fifth year in a row offers its citizens and foreign visitors free screenings of timeless film classics, marking significant anniversaries and events in cinema history and the city of Ljubljana. The films will be screened in their original language with Slovenian subtitles; non-English language films also include English subtitles.

Screening of a new copy of the film in the 4K resolution on the 50th anniversary of the film.

Summer with Monika (directed by: Ingmar Bergman)

Film screening marking the 100th anniversary of Ingmar Bergman’s birth.

Thursday, 30 Aug at 21:00

Monterey Pop (directed by: D. A. Pennebaker)

Film screening marking 50 years since the legendary year of 1968.
