INTERNATIONAL TOURIST GUIDE DAY 2019 IN SLOVENIA

Every 21st of February we are marking the International tourist guide day. The first celebrations took place in 1990, when 15 countries took part. Almost 30 years later, more than 100 countries yesterday marked that important day, for all those working in the tourist sector.

Slovenia also took part in yesterday’s activities. More than 40 free of charge tours were organized in more than 30 different Slovenian cities and region. As last year more than one third of the free of charge guidings took place in Ljubljana (12), this year the tourist guides tried also to promote other Slovenian regions. Still even in 2019 the biggest number of tours took place in Ljubljana (11), which is about 25% of all free of charge tours which were organized on this tourist holiday.
