EUROPEAN SITTING VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS 2019

Hungarian capital Budapest hosted the European sitting volleyball championships between 15th – 20th July 2019. In men’s competition two biggest rivals Russia and Bosnia-Herzegovina met again in the finals. Although BiH easily defeated the Russians in the group stage (3-0), at the end Russians took the gold medal by winning an epic encounter 3-2 (26-24, 23-25, 23-25, 25-22, 17-15). Bronze Medal in men’s competition went to Germany who defeated Ukraine 3-0.

Russia also took the gold medal in the ladies competition by defeating Italy in the finals 3-0 (25-12, 25-16, 25-22). Bronze medal match in the women’s competition was the same as in men’s between Ukraine and Germany. But in this case Ukraine prevailed and won the match 3-2. Slovenian ladies finished 5th, by defeating our neighbors Croatia 3-0 in the 5th place match.
